Armillary

Not a garden variety sundial set in Kellie Castle gardens, Scotland. I am told it is not a sundial but an “armillary” with hoops for planes of poles and ecliptic equatorial bands painted white with black numerals. The prancing horse and golden arrow make me pause to imagine where it is aiming in the sky above. Photographed by: Craig Kleber
