Craig was born in London during the 1960's to an Italian mother who was educated in England and France, and an American father who studied international relations. These were influences that Craig would not be comfortable pursuing a normal path in life. A graduate of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Craig spent his entire career in Advertising working at major agencies in London and across the U.S. as Chief Strategist on a variety of well- known boutique and global brands.
After retiring, Craig moved to Italy where he and his posse of rescued dogs lived in a villa overlooking the Adriatic Sea. After that he moved full-circle back to St. Andrews, where he had done his university studies 30-odd years before. Craig and his dogs currently live in a centuries-old stone barn conversion in the area.
A window into Craig's connection with the idea for The Sublime World is his love for exploring that which is quietly different, unexpected and special. For instance, instead of attending his university graduation, Craig graduated 'in absentia,' spending the money his parents would have spent on travel to the ceremony, to stay with a French professor friend in Paris. For three weeks he explored the city on foot, including spending over two hours one day, saving bees in distress in the great fountain at the Palace of Versailles. His passion for exploring the simple and the grand, but always in "good taste" he stresses, is where he captures many of the photos we feature.
Craig hopes The Sublime World can bring to those who engage with it, the same kind of small but exquisite joy he experiences - whether hiking in the Sud Tirol amongst old church ruins, attending a chamber orchestra performance at a church in Prague during the winter, or traveling anywhere else his wanderlust leads him.
